Hey guys! Recently I was sent the Idéalia BB Crème by Vichy*. I have been using this for many months now, through rain and shine, night and day. I have got to say that I did have a small doubt that it was causing me to break out at one point but I know now that that was the cause of another product – this story is for another post. Eeep!
This product comes in a plastic tube, much like that of a moisturiser, and you simply squeeze the tube to get out product. The product comes out a little at a time so you can get the chosen amount out without wasting any product.
It promises a variety of benefits to your skin like all BB cream’s nowadays. For example it illuminates instantly, hydrates, visibly smoothes wrinkles, reduces dark spots, and contains UVA and UVB protection (SPF 25). I can vouch for the first two and the fact that it has SPF in it but I haven’t noticed any improvement to dark spots and as I don’t have wrinkles naturally I can’t say anything either.
The colour I have this BB cream in is Light. At first I thought that this would be too light for me but this product doesn’t give a whole lot of coverage so that wasn’t a problem. I would describe this BB cream as something that keeps your skin itself but just a little better. It doesn’t cover blemishes but it evens out your skin tone and reduces redness.
I use the BB cream mostly on days when I can not be bothered to do my makeup but since I don’t want to be ‘face naked’, I will apply this for inner confidence (makeup does increase my confidence a whole lot).
I find that the easiest way to apply this to my skin is with my fingers – just as you would apply a moisturiser. It is much more easier to work with if you do this. Also, it is pointless do use a brush as it doesn’t accentuate the finish of the product in any way.
The BB cream has a very nice smell to it. It isn’t too irritating and hasn’t done anything noticeably bad to my skin – despite me being sensitive to perfumed product. The finish of this product is dewy; I’d say that it gives your skin a very natural, healthy glow. Even though I have oily skin it manages to last all day on it. This has done me well through the summer months and I thank Vichy for that!
Vichy have made two colours for this product – light and medium. Not the best colour range but I wouldn’t say that you need a big colour range for this anyway. As the coverage is very sheer I would say that it suits most skin types but if you are extremely pale or extremely dark, I’d advise you to stay away from this.
The product is available HERE for £17.85 (reduced from £21) for 40 ml - definitely a bargain for us gyals. This will last you forever as you only need a pea sized amount. I strongly advise you not to put much more than this onto your face; it will look oily instead of dewy. If you would like to see more products from Vichy please click HERE.
