Hey guys! Today I am reviewing the Exfoliating Face Wash from the Softly Softly range by Elemis. This face wash comes in a purple plastic tube with a squirt-out applicator (which tends to get very messy).
The product is an off-white, orangey colour and has tiny exfoliating beads in it. This is supposed to be great for your skin as it exfoliates all of the bad stuff such as dead skin cells and even black heads off of your skin.
‘With a deep pore cleansing action, this exfoliating facial wash contains cherry powder and jojoba beads to gently polish and help refine skin texture. Enriched with mandarin and aniseed to soften and condition, leaving skin clean, brighter and more radiant.’ – Elemis
After first applying this to my skin I immediately found that it was like an average face wash although the smell was very fruity. As my skin does not do well with harsh fragrances I thought this wouldn't be for me. And I was right.
This turned out to break me out as bad and worse as any product has ever broken me out. After initially using it I noticed a few spots here and there but ignored this and continued using the face wash. I then noticed that my skin was becoming very bumpy – like I had acne. I never have had acne!
After that I stopped using this face wash. After a few days I thought that maybe the spots hadn’t come from the face wash. So I restarted using it. And the spots came strolling in. For this reason i wouldn’t recommend it. I didn’t see any results whatsoever so this would definitely be a £12 wasted.
To think that this was meant to be for those with teen skin (we already have spots)! Nevertheless, if you would like to check this out you can find it HERE. If you would like to browse the Elemis site click HERE.
