Hey guys! Today I have yet another review for you guys! This time it is on a product from the brand Murad, which I must say that I had never heard of before I received this product but I have recently seen many posts on it in the blogosphere.
The product collection that I am reviewing is the Pore Perfection Starter Kit*. This kit comes with four different products, the Energising Pomegranate Cleanser, the T-Zone Pore Refining Gel, Energising Pomegranate Moisturizer and two sachets of the Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask.
‘Clear pores and embrace beautiful radiant skin. Three simple steps balance oily and dry zones while removing dull, dry cells for skin that is smooth and shine free.’ – Murad
1) Cleanse | Tone: Energising Pomegranate Cleanser – click HERE - £25
This is a fairly gentle foaming cleanser. It has a lovely floral smell, not too much like pomegranate but the same smell is distinct throughout all of these products. It comes with a pump nozzle so application is very easy.
I have tried a few foaming cleansers in the past and I have to say all of them would not lather! This one is totally and exception and it was a pleasure to use. It is very gentle and removes all traces of my makeup. I love using this! It is great for balancing my skin and doesn’t break me out at all.
2) Treat | Repair: T-Zone Pore Refining Gel – click HERE - £50
This product has a gel like consistency. It too smells great and is very hydrating to the skin. I think this would be perfect for all of you oily-skinned lasses!
3) Hydrate | Protect: Energizing Pomegranate Moisturiser – click HERE - £29
This is a moisturiser that contains SPF. I really like to wear it but as with all things with SPF in them (except for foundations for some funny reason, I have a hunch that I am fine with the chemical SPF’s) I felt like I broke out. And if ya’ll know that sort of greasy feeling that you can get from applying sun block, you will know that this isn’t for you. Nevertheless, this is great for occasions where I need SPF on my face and am going to apply makeup over it anyway.
4) Target | Repair: Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask – click HERE - £25
Man, this burnt like anything! This was almost unbearable to have on my skin. It wasn’t even the good-tingly sort of felling. Nevertheless, I closed my eyes and forced myself to complete the full 15 minutes. I do feel like this would not be for you if you have any cuts or anything – your experience would be all the more painful.
The mask dried as a clear layer and my skin felt really tight after it had dried. It’s probably the first clear, gel-like mask I have used. This mask is supposed to dissolve all dry skin and free skin from trapped impurities. Despite the negative of the burn I felt like my skin was really refreshed and it was also glowing at the end. The results were great to be honest. I was a little red by the end of it but it wasn’t anything too bad. But still, this mask was something I did not like to use because of this burn.
Overall, I really do like this set as it wasn’t too bad. The products I liked best were the T-Zone Pore Refining Gel and the Energising Pomegranate Cleanser. Also, despite the harsh application I really did like the results that the mask gives. No pain, no gain, I guess. However, I won’t be going out of my way to purchase the mask, haha!
You can check this set out on the feelunique website HERE for only £20 (value £49), which compared to the actual prices of the products (even though they are larger) is pretty good in my opinion. If you would like to browse other products that Murad has to offer, feel free to do so HERE. Thank you for reading!
