What’s In My Makeup Bag?

Hey guys, I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and are enjoying your holidays! Today I am going to write a quick post – or what I hope will be a quick – on all of the items in my everyday makeup bag. This is the makeup that I use everyday to school but I will mix and match a lot of the time.  These are just the products that I come back to regularly and love. I hope you enjoy the post!

The picture above shows you my makeup bag. I am pretty sure that I got it from B&M some time ago for around a £1 which I thought was a great bargain. It is very handy as it has space for all of my every day makeup items so whenever I am travelling this is the firs thing that I throw into my handbag.

Review // Nars Eye Shadow in Yamal

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share with you an eye shadow shade by Nars called Yamal*. This shade is a very light, matte brown colour with grey undertones. I love it for a very natural transition shade in the crease for myself and have recently been using it regularly.

Top 6 // TV Shows I'm Currently Watching

Hey guys, I hope that you are all well. Yesterday I decided that my blog I to ‘reviewish’ and personally that was not the angle that I wanted it to take although I love trying out new things. So I am now going to be easing myself into posts that will be fun for me to make because they are about me but I hope that they are also types of posts that you will enjoy to read.

After stumbling onto Felicity’s blog (Pursuit of Felicity) I became obsessed with reading her posts. She seems like the loveliest person ever and her thoughts are so original and very fun to read. I liked the idea of the ‘Top 5: TV Shows I’m Currently Watching’ post she did recently so I thought that I would do it on my blog for you guys but I would do it with six shows because I couldn’t narrow it down any further! Enough of the rambling now, let’s get a move on!

In no particular order… my six favourite shows of the moment are:

The Carrie Diaries

This is an adaptation from the book the Carrie Diaries. I actually read it before watching the show which I like doing with most of my favourites. This is a very interesting show based on Carrie who is torn between chasing her dreams and love. It is set in around the 1960 period so it is very vintage in a way. You really get to see the thinking of the time clearly and what it was like to live in that time. Carrie and her friends are also very relatable and you can see that the struggles they go through are very similar to the struggles that many go through nowadays.

Review // Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser

Hey guys! Today I want to share with you a product that will be great for my acne-prone gyals. I know how frustrating acne can be and I have been through it. It completely shattered my confidence at points and made me feel down about myself. I want you guys to understand that it is only a phase and you can get through it!

For me acne was due to not having a fixed skin care routine. Also, I would use dozens of products on my skin in one time period which in the long term had a negative impact on my skin. One of the crucial parts of getting rid of acne for me was regularly cleansing. The cleanser that I used at the time to help was the Foaming Facial Cleanser by Sukin*.

Review // Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Endless Purple

Hey guys! What is happening? I love eye shadows, don’t you? Most of us have preferences when it comes to eye shadow and most of the time you are cut between a cream shadow and a powder shadow. It just so happens that a few of the most talked about eye shadows from the drugstore are on opposite sides of the scale. Clearly the consistency of a product isn’t an issue.

However, I prefer cream shadows just because they are easier to work with and I don’t have fallout with them. I can also apply them with my finger on a lazy day and still get good results also. The eye shadow that I am reviewing today is the Colour Tattoo by Maybelline in the colour Endless Purple*. I have got to say that I really enjoy wearing it.

Review // Disney Princess Lip Smackers

Hey guys! Today I decided to take a trip down childhood lane with you. I am going to be reviewing three of the Disney Lip Smackers*. There are four different flavours of these lip balms: Cinderella - vanilla; Ariel - calypso berry with a hint of glitter; Snow White - cherry with a slight shimmer and Belle - natural coloured, moisturising gloss with a sweet scent. Personally, I have come to love them a lot because they are just so handy to have around for moisturising your lips. As well as this they are the cutest little things ever and are suitable for pretty much all.

Review // Murad Spot Treatment Concealer

Hey guys! Firstly, I am sorry for the long break that I took off of blogging. My time table became pretty cramped a few weeks ago and then exam season started so that I didn’t have any time to sit down, never mind write a detailed blog post. Anyway, I am back with one of my favourite types of posts. Reviews! Haha, I am going to tell you about the Spot Treatment Concealer by Murad* today and whether or not I liked it. So if you want to learn more about it please keep reading!

My MAC Wish List

Hey guys! Today, yet again I was lazying around and it occurred to me that there I only have two products from MAC in my makeup collection. Nevertheless, there are sooo many MAC products that I would like to try out, mainly because I have heard them raved about time and time again on YouTube.

So I figured that I would share my MAC wish list with you guys before I actually buy the products. They are pretty much in a random order as I don’t know what I would like to try them all out equally. If there are any other specific products that you think I should try out or even review, feel free to let me know!

1) Pro Longwear Concealer - £15.50

You must be living under a rock if you haven’t heard about this concealer and it’s goodness! I have seen this raved about in countless YouTube videos and if I had to choose one products out of the whole MAC collection, I would choose this to try out first. The coverage seems like it is perfect and it supposedly doesn’t crease; what more could a girl ask for ey?

2) Paint Pot - £15

This is basically an eye shadow primer. I have seen it in a few tutorials and it really does make eye shadow pop! It looks like a concealer and it comes in a few different shades.

3) Prep & Prime Highlight - £18

I haven’t really seen this raved about a lot but one of my favourite beauty gurus Carli Bybel uses this in pretty much every one of her videos. It makes a perfect highlight as well as base for your concealer. I love highlighting so I definitely want to try this out!

Mary Greenwell Speaks Makeup & Glasses

Hey guys! Recently Mary Greenwell, one of the world's most sought after and influential makeup artist, did an interview with Brand Nation. They asked if I would like to share it with you guys and I couldn’t refuse! Here are some tips for you guys, from the new face of Silhouette's 'Icon for an Icon' campaign, whether you want some professional tips on how to style glasses, or on how to do your makeup to suit you or you are curious on which makeup Mary would recommend to you. Enjoy!

Q. Is there a difference between working with people who are wearing glasses, and those that aren’t? Are there any techniques you use to enhance the eyes behind glasses?

A. No. There aren’t at all! I always say that the glasses come after the makeup. The glasses, if chosen properly, are the perfect addition to your makeup look. So I don’t manipulate the makeup for glasses at all: do your makeup up how you want it to look and then put your glasses on. They should just be an extension of your personality! That’s the benefit of the Silhouette Icon specs; they’re frameless so people can look into you, and see your face, so you should wear whatever makeup and clothing you want to wear.

Q. Do you think this is different from people who wear heavy frames?

A. No not at all, it’s exactly the same.

Q. And from a makeup artist’s perspective, do you manipulate makeup application to accommodate glasses?

A. Well, the model tends to be chosen as they represent the look or theme the styling team want to achieve, so you work to enhance the face, with either a smoky eye, or a bold lip, or a natural finish, whatever is required and then just add glasses.
